Milan Milojevic graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Belgrade in 2013.


In 2014, he earned a master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences (NIHES) in Rotterdam and began residency training at the Dedinje Cardiovascular Institute in Belgrade. In 2018, he received the EACTS Francis Fontan Scholarship and completed a Quality & Outcomes Fellowship in conjunction with the Michigan Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons (MSTCVS) Quality Collaborative and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He defended his PhD on treatment decision-making in patients with complex forms of coronary artery disease and secondary prevention medications at Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 2019. He is currently an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Dedinje Cardiovascular Institute and Research Coordinator in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at University Hospital Zurich. He served as Chair of the EACTS Committee for Clinical Practice Guidelines (2020–2023) and has since served as the Guidelines Programme Director at EACTS. His interests include perioperative optimisation, clinical trial methodology, and the development of trustworthy, evidence-based guidance for clinicians, patients and policymakers.
