Dr. Ali Khoynezhad is an internationally recognized leader in aortic and atrial fibrillation surgery. He is Medical Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.
Prior to joining MemorialCare, Dr. Khoynezhad was Director of Aortic Surgery and Co-Director of Atrial Fibrillation Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Professor of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He has trained over 550 physicians in abdominal, thoracic endovascular aortic repair and atrial fibrillation procedures. Dr. Khoynezhad has been the principal investigator for 20 industry-sponsored clinical trials, while taking the national and international principle investigator role in three clinical trials. Dr. Khoynezhad’s research findings have been published in 245 peer-reviewed publications. He was the youngest surgeon to be selected into the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, and is the President of the 21st Century Cardiothoracic Surgical Society.
