Hemodynamic instability after cardiac surgery is common. Having a framework for it is not.Listen now to this month’s episode of The Cardiac Recovery Room, produced by @ctsnet: Hemodynamics and Atrial Fibrillation. In this episode, host Rawn Salenger is joined by Subhasis Chatterjee and Amanda Rea to discuss common and uncommon post-operative challenges after cardiac surgery, including the approach to the hypotensive patient, vasoplegia and vasopressor selection, the inflammatory cascade, cost considerations, blood pressure targets and monitoring, and the approach to atrial fibrillation. The discussion explores how early recognition, a structured framework, and multidisciplinary decision-making may help support perioperative care.Listen to the full episode: link in bio#ERASCardiac #CardiacRecoveryRoom #CardiacSurgery #Hemodynamics #AtrialFibrillation

Enhanced recovery and Patient Blood Management (PBM) were discussed in a training program for a multidisciplinary audience from across SerbiaERAS Cardiac Society European Leadership Council member Prof. @serdar.gunaydin delivered lectures on both, with a focus on the multidisciplinary team approach, at a training program in Divcibare, Serbia. The program brought together 50 anesthesiologists, transfusiologists, and surgeons from across Serbia. The ERAS Cardiac sessions drew strong engagement, with extensive questions and discussion, and participants left enthusiastic about bringing ERAS Cardiac protocols to their own centers. Enhanced recovery works best when the whole team moves together. Seeing that interest grow across an entire country is exactly the kind of momentum that moves the field forward.
